The Bannau Trio are a bench mark of true ensemble work in the European Folk/Jazz Tradition. Fresh, accomplished and immensely engaging…A Trio that has the ability to be “fearlessly interactive and yet able at the same time to display a telling vulnerability” All three members are Nominees of the Globe Music Foundation 2010 Jazz Musician of the year awards.

Bannau takes its name from the Welsh for Brecon Beacons – Bannau Brycheiniog. It refers to the bright light of the beacon that guides the way through the mist, but also refers to the bleakness and foreboding of the vast open lands. The image is one of exploration and hope, shared by this new collective of three like-minded musicians Nia Lynn, Gareth Lockrane and Ross Stanley.
